project overview
Silla Vacía is a short film where I served as the general producer from the development stage, overseeing every phase of the project and making critical decisions to bring it to completion. The production posed significant challenges due to limited budgets, requiring creative problem-solving and innovative financial strategies.
During development, alongside the director, I led the submission of the project to In Vitro, a component of the Bogotá Short Film Festival (Bogoshorts), the largest short film festival in Bogotá, where it was selected in 2022. Afterward, I spearheaded additional fundraising efforts, including investment agreements, strategic brand partnerships, and activities like raffles to secure the remaining funds.
I managed a multidisciplinary crew of 15 people and coordinated the hiring of acclaimed actors Katheryn Guzmán and Fernando Cubillos, who brought the main characters to life. I also oversaw key creative elements such as the sound design and the composition of two original musical pieces, which added depth and emotional resonance to the short film.
In addition, last year, the project’s production was selected at the Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM) to receive a mentorship on promotion and distribution strategies from Diana Pérez, a renowned industry professional. The project has now completed its post-production phase and is in the process of being registered with the Ministry of Culture.
